Of Course Saquon Barkley Gave A Flight And Giants Tickets To The Kid That Was Snubbed For An Autograph By DeMarcus Lawrence Because He Was Wearing A Saquon Jersey
TMZ- 11-year-old Kamil Bautista — a NY fan living in McAllen, Texas — drove 9 hours with his family to watch the Cowboys play the Giants in Dallas last weekend.
But, after the game when he was searching for autographs from players outside the stadium … Lawrence blew him off, telling him his Barkley jersey was the wrong team!!! Well, Barkley saw the whole situation … and guess what??? HE WANTS TO HANG OUT WITH THE KID NOW!!! Sources close to the situation tell us Barkley reached out to the Bautistas this week and invited them to their Nov. 10 game against the Jets in New York. We’re told Barkley is flying them out and will give them a meet-and-greet experience as well as VIP treatment at MetLife Stadium.
Well that was the most obvious ending to a story ever. If you get humiliated in a viral video these days, there is a pretty decent chance someone is going to do something to make things better after the internet roasted your ass. Ellen may have you on her show to give you a buttload of stuff, a GoFundMe could be started in your honor so you can use $100 bills to dry up your tears, or some company will break off a few bucks in exchange for some good PR generated by a bunch of retweets. But since it’s 2019, you better make sure you do enough to appease the masses because the Panthers and Lowe’s took some shots from the Blue Checkmark Brigade for having the unmitigated GALL to give a 12-year-old kid cutting lawns for his college tuition a free lawnmower instead of tuition money for himself and the next 10 generations of his family.
So seeing that this Giants fan was taken care of by someone in the Giants organization was a no-brainer, especially when that Giant was Saquon Barkley since he is Football Jesus on the field and regular ol’ Jesus of Nazareth off the field (I hope Saquon will actually make it to 33 considering the stacked lines he is going to face this season. But that’s neither here nor there).
Now while I love this gesture by Saquon, I have to nitpick it a little bit because that kid’s parents should not be allowed to cash in a free trip to the big city with their son. You simply cannot allow your kid to ask a Cowboy for an autograph while wearing a Giants jersey. That’s Day 1 stuff for an NFC East fan. I know the kid probably should know better. But as a father of two kids, I have learned one thing about children. They are dumb as shit and will pretty much believe anything you tell them. Letting your kid get Mutombo’d by a player of a trash franchise like the Cowboys is bad. However doing it in a public place where people had cell phones is damn near a reason to get Child Protective Services involve because for negligence. So keep mom and dad at home while little Kamil has the time of his life with a relative or another family member as Big Blue fills his head with propaganda so they hopefully create a super crazy, super obnoxious Giants fan in Texas to combat the thousands upon thousands of loud Cowboys fans in the Tri-State Area that carry themselves like their team is the one that has two Lombardi trophies this century instead of being a team that hasn’t sniffed a Super Bowl appearance since Robbie Fox was born.
Also shout out to Saquon for showing off his signature great instincts by giving away tickets to the Jets game instead of tickets to the rematch in MetLife of last week’s mollywhopping. Much better chance the kid sees a W that way. That isn’t even a shot at the Jets either. I’m just saying I had mono in the 10th grade, was belligerently tired for a couple of weeks, and have never been fully awake since. So I have no clue what state Sam Darnold will be in when he gets better enough to return to the field and have superduper athletes trying to rip his head off again.
